2 Day Cleanse Detox-We Tried It, Here’s What Happens!
So our Editor, Arianne, put together a diary of her 2 day experience. It’s raw. It’s real. Therefore, here is what occurs during a 48 hour detox.
Day One (Hours 0-8)– Okay, well so far so good. To be honest, I’ve been struggling with late night snacking, which has definitely added a few pounds over the years. Therefore, I found myself wishing I had eaten a few Sour Cream potato chips before I started down this journey Lol!
However, I’m about to go to sleep, so I’ll be asleep for most of this first phase of the cleanse. Which is good. Means most of us trying this will at LEAST be able to stay good for the first 1/3 of the day. But, so far I’m passing my first big test. No snacking tonight. Good night y’all!
Day One (Hours 9-16) WOW. This is going to sound really crazy. But I already look smaller today. I don’t think it is results from the detox yet. Really think it’s because I’m trying not to snack at night. I quit snacking before bed a couple days before beginning this detox; and I’m already seeing dividends. Amazing Lol.
Anyway, it is around 1pm (hour 13) and I’m doing surprisingly okay. I honestly thought I would be super hungry by now. But I’m feeling pretty good.
I’m going to keep drinking plenty of water and my detox drink. And keep moving along here. I’ll check back in after a few more hours.
Two Day Cleanse
Day One (Hours 17-24)
Alright, so Day One is about to be a wrap! Can’t believe I made it Lol! I really LOVE to eat, so I knew going into this, that it would not be easy. However, I think because today was so busy it helped.
My day flew because I had a million things to do. So that’s one piece of advice I can give. Try to stay busy. That way you don’t have time to think about all the pizza, chips, ice cream, pasta, bacon, bread, gravy you are missing out on.
Day Two (Hours 0-8) Well, here we go again. It’s late and I should really get to bed. Once again, I’m happy that I will be fast asleep doing this first phase of the day. Unless, I have to get up and use the bathroom… yet again LOL.
I drink a lot of water during the day normally, so I’m used to regular bathroom breaks. However, I will say that this detox is definitely increasing the frequency Haha! So just FYI. You may be running to the ‘Tinkle-Torium’ way more often during your 48 hour cleanse.
Two Day Juice Cleanse
Day Two (Hours 9-16) The nightmare is almost over… just kidding, it hasn’t even been that bad. The only challenge was watching someone eat a really good looking dinner. I wanted what they were eating SO badly Haha. But I refocused on my goal and got through it.
Day Two (Hours 17-24) I’m in the final countdown! You guys just don’t know how proud I am Lol. I thought I would have to cheat a little just to get through this 2 Day Cleanse. However, I didn’t once.
I had read other stories of ladies detoxing who had to eat a little snack or soup because they had hunger headaches. Thankfully, I did not experience any headaches. Just a little low energy here and there. Due to that aspect, I cut out strenuous exercise; choosing to perform low impact workouts for just a few minutes.
Nevertheless, if you are like me and you love to eat; do yourself a favor and try to prepare yourself mentally first. Maybe even try to cutdown your meal portions a few days before. I think because I quit snacking beforehand; I put myself in a pretty good head space.
My mind and body was already in the mode of not indulging in bad food; so it helped me transition through the detox much easier.
