Chris Rock Gets Covid After Reportedly Being Vaccinated

Chris Rock said he tested positive for covid-19 and is urging others to get vaccinated. “Hey guys I just found out I have COVID, trust me you don’t want this. Get vaccinated,” Rock tweeted on Sunday, Sept. 19.

The beloved comedian said he was vaccinated in May during an appearance on “The Tonight Show,” according to The Associated Press (AP).

“I’m vaccinated. You know, I’m ‘Two-Shots Rock.’ Two shots Rock, that’s what they call me … and besides this little foot growing out my a**, I feel fine,” Rock quipped To host Jimmy Fallon. He added he got the Johnson & Johnson shot, which he joked was “the food stamps of vaccines.”

“You know, I skipped the line too to get my vaccine. I didn’t care. I used my celebrity, Jimmy,” Rock continued. “I was like, ‘Step aside, Betty White. Step aside, old people. … I did ‘Pootie Tang.’ Let me on the front of the line.’”

Rock’s tweet drew mixed reactions from Twitter users. Some wished him well and agreed with his vaccine advocacy, while others said his being vaccinated proved the shots weren’t effective.

“I had it twice, once before vaccine was available, and once after fully vaxxed. I was really sick both times, but fortunately didn’t have to be hospitalized. I am getting booster asap. It’s terrible. Hope you get well soon,” user @susan52132641 commented under Rock’s tweet.

“BREAKING: Chris Rock in an almost fatal car accident. He was wearing a seat belt and encourages others to as well… Is that better boneheads? Or should we write it in crayon,” @thetonymichaels sarcastically tweeted.

“But you said in May you got the vaccine. So why would you tell others to get the shot when you still got COVID and say it’s bad even though you already got vaxxed?? Makes zero sense,” reporter Rick Leventhal wrote. “Ok vaccine salesman,” Florida senate candidate Omar Navarro responded.

One user said other people’s responses to Rock testing positive shows how cynical many really are.

“Looking at all the willfully ignorant responses to Chris Rock getting COVID suggests that people are untrustworthy as a species and is perhaps the greatest incentive I’ve had in a year to stop everything, stay at home and just write books forever,” writer Scott Woods tweeted.
