Human Lungs Are Carrying Microplastics


Researchers in England claim to have found microplastics in the lungs of living people. In the past, the tiny pieces of plastic polluted throughout earth have been found in human blood and stool. The finding is definitely worrisome, but not surprising. Humans produce 300 million metric tons of plastic each year, and almost all of it ends up in the environment. According to one of the scientists, the plastic pieces they found in the lung tissue are bigger than most researchers expected to see.
