President Biden nominated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to fill the vacancy left by Justice Breyer on the Supreme Court. Judge Jackson is making history as the first Black woman justice nominee. Biden made a campaign promise to nominate a Black woman, and he followed through. Judge Jackson is a 51-year-old liberal from Miami, Florida. She was a mentee of her predecessor and also went to Harvard College and Harvard Law School. Her Ivy League education has been criticized by several Republicans.
