Public Enemy’s Chuck D Sells Stake In His Catalog To Reach Music Publishing

Chuck D was not only a founding member of the legendary Hip-Hop group Public Enemy, but he also wrote on many of their projects including their studio albums “Yo! Bum Rush the Show,” “It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back,” “Fear of a Black Planet,” and “Apocalypse 91…The Enemy Strikes Black.”

Fortunately, the frontrunner will also be receiving his dues for his songwriting through the acquisition. In fact, Reach Music Publishing has obtained 50 percent copyright interest in conjunction with 100 percent of the writer’s share — which includes the global administration rights in Public Enemy’s Chuck D’s song catalog, per the outlet.
