The hours for Market Street at Heath Brook Mall will vary from store to store. The anchors are Dillard’s, Barnes & Noble and Dick’s Sporting Goods.
What is the national outlook for holiday season spending?
A National Retail Federation survey predicts consumers will spend $840.49 on average on holiday gifts, food and other items. That is “the second-highest (amount) in the survey’s 23-year history,” according to a federation news release.
“Nine in 10 (91%) of adults surveyed plan to celebrate the holiday season this year. Seventy percent, or $627.93, of predicted spending will go to gifts for family and friends. The remaining sum – roughly $260 – will be spent on seasonal items like food or candy, decorations and greeting cards,” the press release says.
Roseann Nardone and Carlos Noa are with Engel & Volkers global real estate brokers, located on South Magnolia Avenue in downtown Ocala. They recently remarked on the growth in the number of apartments around the downtown area.
Nardone said she’ll likely “spend a little more this year” on holiday shopping all over the Ocala area.
Walmart and Target for Black Friday and before
On the national scene, Walmart dropped all the details about its Black Friday 2025 sale, which includes three waves of savings packed with thousands of deals starting at under $20 with up to 60% off top brands like Dyson, Lego, Barbie, Levi’s and Keurig.
Target started early with some major sales in the first week of November and will be running sales online throughout the month.

Black Friday 2025 sales started early at Target
Target’s best Black Friday deals started early this year. Target’s early Black Friday sale kicked off on Thursday, November 6 and ran through Saturday, November 8. Target’s online store is also running discounts of up to 50% off throughout the month of November.
These holiday deals were offered in anticipation of Target’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale, which officially starts online Thursday, November 27, and ends on Tuesday, December 2, with major discounts that will last throughout the entirety of Cyber Week 2025.
What’s on sale for Black Friday at Target?
While specifics around the exact discounts are still under wraps, Target’s Black Friday sales typically includes sitewide discounts on everything from electronics and home goods to toys and TikTok-loved fashion staples. Popular brands included in the event can range from Apple and Lego to Levi’s and Dyson.
