The Dream Defenders have stepped in to provide just that with the release of their voter’s guide. For nearly a decade, Dream Defenders have been on the forefront of activism and this voter’s guide is their latest example.

This week, Dream Defenders released its comprehensive nonpartisan voter’s guide in preparation for the upcoming Nov. 5 presidential elections. According to the organization, the guide aims to provide voters with all the necessary information to make informed decisions and vote with conscience and confidence.

The 16-page voter’s guide briefly covers various topics, including key issues such as abortion and marijuana, which will be on the ballot. Since the organization is located in Florida, the state was one of their top priorities when creating the guide. Dream Defenders not only compiled a comprehensive national voter guide but also tailored some specifics geared toward Florida’s issues as well. The guide also considers the lived experiences and material conditions of Black, Latinx, and marginalized communities, ensuring that voices are heard and concerns are addressed this election cycle. The organization is encouraging everyone to save and share the voter’s guide with friends, family, and community members, as well as use it to engage in discussions about the election.

The Dream Defenders were founded in April 2012 after the tragic killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida. Over the last decade, the team has organized with and fought alongside thousands of young Floridians. In 2003, Dream Defenders became a national organization.

Dream Defenders’ voter’s guide serves not only as an educational tool but also as a reminder of the power of informed voting. As individuals and communities across the nation prepare to make critical choices, resources like this guide underscore the importance of staying engaged and informed.

As the organization continues to advocate for the rights of those most affected by systematic inequalities, its voter’s guide is an invitation for all voters to participate in shaping the future of this nation.
