Donald Trump and his administration have been doing everything possible to dismantle, disrupt, and destroy the progress Black people in this country have made over the last century. A federal judge in New Hampshire has, at least temporarily, limited his ability to exact his racist revenge on public schools that have certain types of diversity and inclusion programs.

Landya B. McCafferty, chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire ruled Thursday that “the administration had not provided an adequately detailed definition of ‘diversity, equity and inclusion,’ and that its policy threatened to restrict free speech in the classroom while overstepping the executive branch’s legal authority over local schools,” the New York Times reports

In her ruling, McCafferty said the loss of federal funds “would cripple the operations of many educational institutions,” and this is the part where I tell you that crippling educational institutions is the entire point of this administration.

Aside from wanting to stick it to Black people every chance they get (and, seriously, why are y’all so obsessed with us?), the only way Donald Trump can make this fascism thing truly successful is if he and his administration (and those pulling the strings in the background) can successfully dumb down the populace.

When you mess with education and make it so that only certain things can be taught in a certain way — completely eradicating the accurate telling of history through whitewashing, for instance — you make it easier to control people.

Uneducated people don’t ask questions, and even if they do, they don’t ask the right questions, and we are already facing an uphill battle when it comes to the truth and Donald Trump, especially with legacy media also refusing to ask the right questions.

Going back to Judge McCafferty, she’s right to point out that the Trump administration has not provided a detailed definition of what “diversity, equity, and inclusion” means when they are using it, and they haven’t provided a detailed definition because in their feeble minds, it can be summed up in one word that starts with an “N” and ends in a hard “ER.”

More from the Times:

The decision followed a demand earlier this month by the Trump administration that all 50 state education agencies attest that their schools do not use D.E.I. practices that violate President Trump’s interpretation of civil rights law. Otherwise, they would risk losing billions in Title I money, which is targeted toward low-income students. About a dozen states, mostly Democratic leaning, refused to sign the document.

In issuing her decision, Judge McCafferty declined to issue a nationwide pause on the policy. Instead, she limited her ruling to schools that employ or contract with at least one member of the groups that brought the lawsuit: the National Education Association, the nation’s largest teachers’ union, and the Center for Black Educator Development, a nonprofit that seeks to recruit and train Black teachers.

Judge McCafferty is an Obama appointee, in case you were wondering.

In early April, the Trump administration notified all 50 states that if their public schools use DEI to to “advantage one’s race over another,” they could lose federal funding.

Because nothing says “advantage” like pointing out how systemic and institutionalized racism have been the cornerstones of this country and the way white mediocrity has been allowed to stay in power this long.

Making people hyper-aware of that fact might actual cause some social change, and you can bet money that Donald Trump and the people benefiting from the criminal organization disguised as a presidential administration that he is running don’t want their bag disrupted.

Donald Trump and his administration will likely appeal this decision, and we will continue on this sped-up merry-go-round of destructive executive orders and court rulings that try to contain them.

I have motion sickness already.
