Meet The 2025 AFROTECH™ Headliners So Far

This year’s programming will explore some of the tech industry’s most critical and fast-evolving sectors. Headliners include Stacey Abrams, a former Georgia State Representative who advocates for social and economic change statewide and nationally. She serves as the founder of American Pride Rises, which champions DEI efforts to ensure opportunities for all Americans, from civil rights to gender rights to voting rights, its website mentions.

Debra Lee will also lend her insights. As the former chairman and CEO of BET Networks, she championed Black storytelling. Her footprint has now expanded as the co-founder of Monarch Collective, which empowers diverse talent with leadership skills to thrive in senior roles, its website notes. She also founded Leading Women Defined, a platform that has empowered 10,000 women through programs and initiatives intended to ensure they find purpose and can lead with conviction, according to its website.

In other sectors, such as design, Jason Mayden will take center stage this year. As AFROTECH™ reported, Mayden is a former Jordan Brand design intern who returned 23 years later to serve as its chief design officer. You can also expect to see the next generation of technologists taking the baton, such as Nathaneo Johnson, an Ivy League student as well as co-founder and CEO of Series, a social media platform powered by AI that raised $3.1 million to rival LinkedIn, the Entrepreneur reports.
