Black-Owned Business Expo to be held Saturday at Fayetteville Town Center | The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

FAYETTEVILLE — More than 60 Black-owned businesses will participate in the ninth Black-Owned Business Expo this weekend.

The Black-Owned Business Expo will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Fayetteville Town Center, 15 W. Mountain St.

The vendors will offer art, apparel, food, beauty products, books, professional services and more, according to a news release from Black Owned NWA, the group putting on the event.

The expo is designed to highlight the creativity, determination and legacy-building effort of Black entrepreneurs in Northwest Arkansas, the release states.

“This event plants seeds that keep growing long after the doors close,” J’Aaron Merchant, co-founder of Black Owned NWA, said. “It’s about building generational wealth and creating opportunities for the entire community. When we come together, the possibilities are endless.”

This will be the ninth year of the event, and for the first time, it will include spaces reserved for “Kidpreneurs” — entrepreneurs under the age of 18.

“We want young people to know: If you have a vision, there’s a place for you here,” Jasmine Hudson, co-founder of Black Owned NWA, said. “This track celebrates the brilliance of the next generation and gives them a platform to shine.”

There will be an admission fee of $5 that will go toward supporting the sustainability of the expo, according to the release.

“Your $5 truly makes a difference,” said Hudson. “It helps ensure that our vendors have the resources they need and that we can continue creating a more equitable economic landscape in Northwest Arkansas.”
