Alchimia celebrates 25 years as a benchmark in the grow shop sector. From its first 40 m² shop in Figueres back in 2001 to its current facilities in Vilamalla, the company has grown to offer nearly 10,000 products and over 2,000 cannabis varieties. To mark this anniversary, April brings exclusive editions in collaboration with seed banks such as Barney’s Farm, Royal Queen Seeds and Sweet Seeds, along with special merchandising and competitions.
Alchimia turns 25. It seems unbelievable, but it’s true: at Alchimia we’re celebrating a quarter of a century of history in the grow shop sector. That’s 25 years making life easier for cannabis users, guiding them and advising them so they can get everything they need to develop their grows.
25 years supporting those who have chosen self-sufficiency as a way of life, so they can do it freely. In short, 25 years working so that anyone can consume marijuana without having to turn to the black market, giving them access to a catalogue of over one hundred seed banks from all over the world and close to 2,000 varieties of marijuana in different formats.
A catalogue made by growers, for growers
Beyond genetics, an essential element in any grow, at Alchimia we have focused on building a vast catalogue of growing supplies to support users in every aspect of cultivation: the best brands of fertilisers, soils, substrates, containers, as well as the latest technology in lighting and ventilation, among many other products.
And, of course, everything you need to process and enjoy your harvest: vaporisers, scales, magnifying glasses, bongs, pipes, stash items, extraction tools, and more. All of it developed with over 25 years of experience.
Most of you know us through the Alchimia Grow Shop website, a benchmark in the sector with nearly 10,000 products available. But Alchimia is much more than an online store.
Alchimia is, above all, a group of people who live this adventure with passion — the adventure of having started from scratch in a sector that, at the time, didn’t even exist. It’s worth remembering that Alchimia is one of the pioneers of the grow shop industry in Spain and Europe, at a time when there were no specialised shops, seed shops — or anything remotely similar — as we know them today.
It’s been 25 intense years, full of challenges and learning, during which we’ve experienced everything and which have taken us much further than we ever could have imagined.
Our origins
To understand how we got here, it’s worth looking back. Alchimia began on 28 April 2001 as a small shop in the centre of Figueres, barely 40 m², where we mainly sold seeds, some growing supplies and head shop products. The response from customers was so positive that we soon needed a larger space, which led to a second shop, better equipped and more focused on cultivation. That’s when we made the leap onto the internet with our website: www.alchimiaweb.com.
Later on, we moved again to what would become our current premises in Vilamalla, a shop of over 200 m², and close to 1,000 m² between warehouse and offices. These walls have allowed us to grow, reaching nearly thirty people all working with the same enthusiasm as on day one to offer the best possible service.
Our blog has been key to this growth. The Alchimiaweb.com blog has been a fundamental tool for communicating with you: a space to share information about growing techniques, recipes, industry news, therapeutic cannabis and much more. Thanks to it, many of you got to know us.
The combination of a great shop and a powerful content platform is what has allowed Alchimia to establish itself as one of the leading grow shops in Europe.
Celebrating our 25th anniversary
And it is from this position that we celebrate our 25th anniversary this year. To commemorate it as it deserves, we have prepared an April full of surprises and new releases. Our anniversary falls on 28 April, and we’ll be celebrating with gifts, special promotions and exclusive editions.
Among them, collaborations with some of the most important seed banks in the industry stand out, such as Barney’s Farm, Royal Queen Seeds, Sweet Seeds, Sensi Seeds and Philosopher Seeds. Some of these special editions are already available in our shop, and others will be arriving throughout the month.
We have also prepared a line of 25th anniversary commemorative merchandise and gifts, which you can get with a minimum purchase during the week of 28 April or by taking part in the various competitions we’ll be launching throughout the year.
