Ulta Beauty CFO Praises CÉCRED For Helping To Drive ‘Healthy Growth’ As Prestige Hair Care Brands Account For 20% Of Net Sales – AfroTech

Ulta Beauty’s decision to carry Cécred products continues to pay off.

Ulta Beauty reported strong results for its most recent quarter, with net sales increasing 8.9% to $3 billion, according to a press release. Other key results listed include:

  • 3.5% increase in comparable sales
  • 10.1% increase in operating income
  • 13.3% increase in diluted earnings per share to $6.55 million

“Our team delivered another impressive quarter of strong sales, profit, and earnings growth, demonstrating that we are executing with discipline and translating our Ulta Beauty Unleashed strategy into tangible benefits for our guests,” said Kecia Steelman, president and chief executive officer, in the press release.

When considering profit by net sales category, cosmetics accounted for 37%, skincare and wellness 24%, and haircare 20%, per the release.

“The hair care category delivered high single-digit comp growth again this quarter, driven primarily by strong performance in prestige hair care and hair tools. Newer brands, amika and Moroccanoil, as well as exclusive brand CÉCRED, continue to drive healthy growth in prestige hair care as hair treatments such as scalp regimens continue to resonate with consumers,” Chief Financial Officer Christopher DelOrefice said in a meeting about Ulta Beauty’s Q2 earnings report.

Cécred

Cécred was founded by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter in 2024. As AFROTECH™ previously reported, the science-backed, self-funded haircare brand launched at Ulta in February 2025. Ulta Beauty serves as Cécred’s exclusive retail partner, with the brand launching in more than 1,400 of its stores nationwide.

Cécred carries haircare products including: Clarifying Shampoo and Scalp Scrub ($38), Moisturizing Deep Conditioner ($38), Fermented Rice and Rose Protein Ritual ($52), Nourishing Hair Oil ($44), and a patent-pending Bioactive Keratin Ferment.

Looking ahead, Ulta Beauty has raised its sales and earnings guidance following its quarterly performance. The decision reflects Ulta Beauty’s “confidence in our strategic priorities and our ability to drive profitable growth and long-term value for all stakeholders in a dynamic environment,” Ulta Beauty President and CEO Kecia Steelman said in the press release.
