African American Wellness Project Joins
Black Philanthropy Month and Urges Donors to Give
The African American Wellness Project (AAWP) is a proud partner of Black Philanthropy Month (BPM) 2024, a global campaign dedicated to elevating African-descent giving and enhancing funding equity for Black-led organizations and communities. AAWP invites supporters to join us in celebrating and supporting this vital cause.
Black Philanthropy Month is an annual global celebration and concerted campaign to strengthen African-descent giving in all its forms. It was established to inspire and engage more individuals and organizations to join the movement towards equitable and impactful philanthropy.
“We encourage all donors to support AAWP during Black Philanthropy Month,” said Dr.Michael LeNoir, founder of AAWP. “ At AAWP, we work to address health disparities in the African American community by advocating for change in the healthcare system, championing equitable treatment, and equipping African Americans with the tools and support needed to thrive.
Despite the significant contributions of AAWP and other Black nonprofits, only a tiny fraction of charitable giving is directed to these organizations. Donors can step up to close this gap. Toparticipate and make a difference, donate to AAWP at https://aawellnessproject.org/donate/.
AAWP like many other Black-founded and -led nonprofits face unique challenges and offer unique solutions. Your support can help to fund the impactful work being done to address health disparities and equity. This includes:
- Empowering Through Education:By providing resources, information, and support, AAWP empowers individuals to navigate the healthcare system effectively and advocate for their own health needs.
- Advocating for Change:AAWP advocates for systemic change within the healthcare system to ensure equitable treatment and access to care for all members of the African American community.
- Community Engagement:Through partnerships, events, and outreach efforts, AAWP actively engages with the African American community to promote health and wellness initiatives and foster a supportive network for individuals and families.
Inspired by Afro-futurism, the theme for BPM 2024, “AfroFutures of Giving,” aims to spark a movement across the United States and worldwide to imagine and co-create a powerful future for Black giving and equitable community finance.
Recurring donations are one of the best ways to support nonprofits. You can set up a recurring donation through AAWP to support to provide the stability that will help us to thrive and grow. Be part of the solution with a gift to AAWP: https://aawellnessproject.org/donate/.
