Angel Reese Invests In TOGETHXR, A Media And Commerce Company That Prioritizes Representation And Is Co-Founded By Olympic Swimmer Simone Manuel

Angel Reese has invested in a media company founded by a lineup of influential women athletes.

TOGETHXR

Formalized in 2019 and launched two years later, as Fast Company reported, TOGETHXR is a media and commerce company headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, driven by a mission to prioritize representation and equality. According to its website, TOGETHXR’s storytelling serves to amplify women, especially since they receive less sports media coverage than their male counterparts.

Former soccer player Alex Morgan, snowboarder Chloe Kim, former WNBA player Sue Bird, and swimmer Simone Manuel, are the co-founders of the organization — all carrying various accolades, including Olympic gold medals.

“I haven’t always felt celebrated,” Manuel explained in a 2024 Time interview.

“[Togethxr] is giving people access to the accomplishments women are achieving and celebrating all of it,” she continued.

Angel Reese Joins As Investor

Angel Reese of the WNBA team, Chicago Sky, now backs Togethxr as a member of the ownership group, USA Today mentioned. She expresses hopefulness in aligning with a platform led by athletes who have paved the way in sports, business, and culture.

“They’ve opened doors for so many of us, and now I get to lock arms with them and keep pushing things forward. That’s powerful,” she told USA Today.

Bird shared with the outlet:

“TOGETHXR was built to challenge the system and prove what we’ve always known: that women in sports set the standard, shift the story, and drive the conversations that matter. Angel Reese is already doing that. She brings a confidence and leadership that not only defines her but adds to the legacy we’re building as we continue to push women’s sports forward.”

As AFROTECH™ previously reported, Reese is no stranger to the investment arena. In May 2024, she invested in the women’s soccer team, DC Power Football Club, based in Washington, DC. This feat marked a full-circle moment for Reese, a Maryland native herself.

“I want to help grow women’s sports and elevate female athletes across the board,” Reese said in a statement, per The New York Times.

“We’re taking over, and I’m honored to be able to support Power FC and invest in women’s soccer in the DMV community,” she continued.
