Black Promoters Collective Surpasses $100M In Year-End Revenue Following Announcement Of Brandy And Monica’s ‘The Boy Is Mine Tour’

Brandy and Monica’s R&B tunes are still high in demand.

The pair released “The Boy Is Mine” in 1998, which was a single featured on Brandy’s album “Never Say Never” and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine,” both launched that same year. The song led to the first Grammy win for both artists in 1999, according to That Grape Juice, and went double platinum, notes “Good Morning America.” It has stood the test of time. In fact, the classic was also remixed by pop star Ariana Grande in 2024, introducing the hit classic to a new generation.

In 2020, it became apparent that fans wanted to see more collaborations by Brandy and Monica. The pair lit up Verzuz, a one-on-one music battle platform co-founded by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, garnering 1.2 million viewers on Instagram, Billboard reported. That battle played a key role in the women’s upcoming co-headlining “The Boy Is Mine Tour,” which was announced on June 24, 2025.
“I’m glad we did Verzuz because I think that was the beginning of new talks about co-headlining a tour together and that’s something that I’ve always wanted for us,” Brandy said during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

The 24-city arena tour, which kicks off in October, is already on track to be a success. According to a press release, the Black Promoters Collective (BPC), which claims to be “the nation’s largest Black-owned live entertainment company,” has the tour under its umbrella, in addition to other concerts such as “Jazz in the Gardens,” “Hampton Jazz and Music Festival,” and LL Cool J’s “Rock the Bells Festival.” The company has already surpassed $100 million in projected sales, the press release states.

“We’re building a movement rooted in authenticity and excellence,” Shelby Joyner, president of BPC, said in the release. “’The Boy Is Mine’ is the latest proof of how powerful our culture is when it’s centered, protected, and celebrated.”

BPC CEO Gary Guidry added:

“Our expansion into the festival space is a natural evolution of our mission to create unforgettable cultural experiences at scale. From Jazz in the Gardens to Hampton to the Rock The Bells Festival, we’re building platforms that celebrate Black excellence and drive real economic impact.”
