Breaking News: Hospital Refuses to Perform CPR on Black College Student, Prioritizes Organ Harvesting Over Life-Saving Measures

Atlanta, GA– Terrance T. Howard, a Ridge Point High School graduate and college football player, tragically lost his life after being hit by a car. Howard, who had been hospitalized since the accident, passed away on Thursday in North Carolina. His family is accusing Carolinas Medical Center of a shocking breach of medical ethics, stating that doctors refused to perform CPR on Howard, citing their intention to harvest his organs instead.

Howard, a 2022 graduate of Ridge Point High School in Missouri City, Texas was described as a “shining star and dedicated athlete.” He initially played as a walk-on at the University of Alabama before transferring to North Carolina Central University on a full-ride scholarship. Howard was moving his belongings from Alabama to Durham when he was involved in a traffic accident. After getting out of his vehicle to check on the other motorist, Howard was struck by a car.

“When he was picked up, he didn’t have ID on him so he was considered a John Doe. He was taken to one hospital and transferred to another,” Brooke Tigtig, the mother of Howard’s girlfriend, told us earlier this week. “So I think it took some time for them to be able to contact his parents.”

Howard and his girlfriend were high school sweethearts, and her family had known him for years. “He wins people over right off the bat,” Doug Tigtig said. “Respectful, super funny, just life of the party, laughing all the time kind of guy.”

The family had been praying for a miracle for the young man known as “T.” “If anyone deserves a miracle, it is Terrance Howard, it is T,” Brooke said.

In a heart-wrenching turn of events, Howard’s family was left to perform CPR themselves as medical staff allegedly stood by. The entire ordeal was streamed on social media. The hospital then escalated the situation by calling the police on the grieving family, accusing them of trespassing. Despite their desperate efforts, Howard later passed away.

Howard’s family had started a GoFundMe to bring him back to Houston for specialized treatment, raising over $43,000. Unfortunately, Brooke Tigtig confirmed that Howard died Thursday night. She expressed the family’s gratitude for all the prayers and support from people all over, including former Alabama Coach Nick Saban.

This incident has sparked outrage and raised serious questions about racial disparities in healthcare, with hashtags such as #TerranceTHoward, #MedicalApartheid, #CarolinasMedicalCenter, and #BlackHealthcareDisparities trending on social media. The family’s allegations have ignited a broader conversation about the systemic issues affecting Black patients in medical institutions.
