According to D. Chubbs Morton, gospel music has taken a turn—a turn that risks losing its original compass: ministry. While the charts are full of polished praise and the industry grows more commercial by the year, Morton believes many artists have strayed from the purpose that birthed the genre in the first place.
“As far as the state of Gospel Music,” Morton says, “I feel like most artists are losing sight of the reason why we do what we do… MINISTRY.”
