Fond du Lac, here’s a Black Friday and Small Business Saturday guide



Fond du Lac businesses are preparing for post-Thanksgiving shopping with Black Friday and Small Business Saturday events. Here’s a look at what’s planned.

FOND DU LAC – After Thanksgiving dinner, many people in Fond du Lac and across the U.S. will start focusing on their holiday shopping.

Black Friday is Nov. 28, followed by Small Business Saturday Nov. 29, both focused on shopping deals and other specials for customers.

Many chain stores have already started deals online. This includes Walmart, which will open at 6 a.m. as usual on Nov. 28, while Target will open a few hours early, also at 6 a.m.

Here’s what to know about Black Friday and Small Business Saturday in Fond du Lac this year.

Black Friday is Nov. 28: Stores announce opening times

Kohl’s, 913 W. Johnson St., has started online deals and will open 5 a.m. Nov. 28.

Hobby Lobby, 618 W. Johnson St., will open one hour early at 8 a.m. Nov. 28 and 29.

Fleet Farm, 800 S. Military Road, will open at 5 a.m. Nov. 28.

The Great Escape, 21 N. Portland St. Suite 1A, started Black Friday early with a month-long promotion of 10% off each escape room ticket with code November25 throughout November.

St. Vincent de Paul Fond du Lac County, 330 N. Peters Ave., will offer Vinny Card holders 30% off storewide, except furniture, starting at 9 a.m. Nov. 28.

Fond du Lac Public Library, 32 Sheboygan St., will close Thanksgiving but open at 9 a.m. Nov. 28, offering 50% off fines and fees for Black Friday.

Autumn’s Closet, 516 Rolling Meadows Drive, will open early at 8 a.m. Nov. 28, and sale details will be announced on their Facebook page.

Small Business Saturday is Nov. 29: Stores announce opening times

Dreamcatcher’s Corner, 167 S. Main St., will have its grand opening Nov. 29 starting at 10 a.m. with vintage clothing and home decor, as well as jewelry, woodwork, handmade goods and more.

Many downtown Fond du Lac businesses will have specials on Nov. 29 for Small Business Saturday, and that day’s purchases are eligible for the Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership Shop Small Sweepstakes for a chance to win $500 in gift certificates.

Argentum Et Aurum, 111 S. Main St., will have make-and-take falling leaf earrings for $35, and $5 coupons for every $20-$100 spent.

Aurora’s Apothecary, 171 S. Main St., invites customers to “pick from the tarot deck of deals” for 5% to 50% off their purchase.

Chapter 52 Bookstore, 52 Sheboygan St., will put used items at 50% off.

Gallery & Frame Shop, 94 S. Main St., will feature artist Malachi Schmidt’s newest collection of framed originals, and he will be accepting portrait orders for Christmas.

Knitty Gritty Shop, 63 N. Main St., will give a free Snap Bag with purchase of limited edition Dynasty Fibers yarn.

La Belle FDL, 1 N. Main St., will give a free gift with a $75 purchase, and customers who buy a $50 gift card will get a $5 bonus card for themselves.

Rooted in Love & Fur Photography, 17 Forest Ave., will have $50 pop-up mini sessions, and visitors can also visit the new studio just to say hello and get a goodie bag.

Other downtown retailers participating in Small Business Saturday include Cujak’s Wine & Spirits, Cutter Vac & Home Center, FDL Cyclery, Lillians of Fond du Lac, Lunar & Lake Book Market, Main Street Fashion, Noel’s Touch Esthetics and Victoria’s Pet Nutrition, according to downtownfdl.com.

Participating bars, cafés and restaurants include 18 Hands Ale Haus, 1836 Renegade Taproom, Blue Line Tavern, Brick House, CC’s Chocolates Cafe, Coliseum Sports Bar & Grill, FDL Beer Company, The Diner and Wonder.

Ledgerock Distillery, N5287 Grandview Road, will have Thanksgiving-themed cocktails, and customers who purchase spirits or merchandise will get a spin on the Ledgerock Prize Wheel.
