Superfoods from Our Roots – Smoky Garlic Collard Greens

Traditional African American foods can be deeply nutritious. Collard greens, sweet potatoes, okra, and black-eyed peas are full of fiber, vitamins, and heart-healthy nutrients.

Try This Recipe:
Smoky Garlic Collard Greens
– 1 bunch fresh collard greens (washed, trimmed, and chopped)
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1 tsp smoked paprika
– Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:
1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
2. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
3. Add collards, paprika, and stir. Cover and cook 8–10 min.
4. Season to taste and serve with brown rice or black-eyed peas.
