Gospel Artist Kirk Franklin’s Fo Yo Soul Recordings And CLTRE Lab Merge With Black-Owned Insignia Assets

Grammy Award-winning singer Kirk Franklin has deepened his partnership with a media and entertainment company, which will increase funding for his creative endeavors.

Franklin’s Fo Yo Soul Recordings and CLTRE Lab merged with Insignia Assets, established by Norman Gyamfi and Jonathan Jay, according to Billboard. The companies will be able to benefit from Insignia Assets’ portfolio, which encompasses recorded music and publishing, television, film, touring and events.

The gospel artist will assume a new title, serving as Insignia Assets’ chief of creative services.

“We’ve worked with Kirk for some time now—from the 2022 release of the multi-GRAMMY®-winning collaborative album, Kingdom, to producing sold-out arena tours with him consecutively over the past few years,” Gyamfi, Insignia Assets’ co-founder and CEO, told the music publication. “Today, we’re thrilled to fortify and deepen our partnership by welcoming Kirk to our executive team and by charting a course for the future with him from recorded music to touring, film/TV to digital media, and more. We are collectively very proud of this moment.”

Franklin, who recently performed at the 2025 Blavity Fest, added, “This partnership with Insignia is bigger than business. It’s about building a platform where our stories, our faith, and our culture can live and breathe across every screen and stage.”

Franklin holds the belief that gospel music should go beyond its confinements and into spaces where it can challenge, inspire, and connect with the world in a real way. “Joining forces with Insignia gives us the reach, the resources, and the creative freedom to do just that,” he said.

The merger will lead to the release of a new single, “Do It Again,” on June 6 and, in partnership with 3 Diamonds Entertainment, the launch of a new dinner conversation series, “Den of Kings,” along with select scripted and unscripted CLTRE Lab projects — each backed by funding and guaranteed production services. The first dinner series episode will feature D.C. Young Fly, Kountry Wayne, Lou Young, and Devale Ellis.

“It’s funny, it’s engaging. And we’re not there to preach. It’s not a preaching conversation. We’re listening, we’re laughing, we’re crying, we’re struggling, we have the tension, we are debating,” Franklin explained of the dinner series, according to Black Enterprise. “It is a beautiful moment to see Black men in this space. The level of vulnerability that you’re going to see from this moment is going to be impressive.”
