Jasmine Crockett Blesses Nancy Mace After Fighting Challenge

At some point, we really need to talk about the way Republican legislators keep trying to turn Congress into Jerry Springer.

From Tennessee state Rep. Justin Lafferty assaulting Rep. Justin Jones while being recorded on Jones’ phone to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene getting into a beef with Rep. Lauren Boebert that led her to call her former brainless bestie a “little b*tch” on the House floor, it’s apparent that Republican leaders have dedicated themselves to lowering the standards of political decorum and professionalism (likely to match the standards of the crotchety, felonious man-child they’ve elected president for the second time).

Speaking of Grene, Rep. Jasmine Crockett who famously dubbed Greene a “bleach blonde, bad built, butch body” after Greene made an inappropriate remark about her appearance has gotten into another heated back-and-forth with another entitled, insufferable and inherently bigoted white woman, Rep. Nancy Mace, who got so flustered after being called out for her stupidity that she suggested she wanted to fight Crockett, telling her they should “take it outside.”

The tension between Crockett and Mace began during a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing on Tuesday, during which Democrat and Republican legislators “clashed over a GOP move to create a subcommittee that would complement President-elect Donald Trump’s plans to create a Department of Government Efficiency, headed by billionaire Elon Musk,” thegrio reported.

“During the 118 Congress, oversight Republicans debate disbanded one of the most important subcommittees in Congress, the subcommittee on civil rights and civil liberties,” Crockett noted. “Now, in the 119th Congress, the chairman and House Republicans have decided to prioritize the demands of the real president, Elon Musk, and his billionaire friends over the needs of the American people.”

From thegrio:

Trump has indicated he plans to establish a White House advisory board, the Department of Government Efficiency, to reduce wasteful government spending. The 47th president of the United States named his friend Musk and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy as co-chairs of the so-called department.

Criticizing Musk’s involvement and the billions in subsidies and tax cuts he receives from the federal government as owner of SpaceX and Tesla, Crockett said, “It may be a problem if you are receiving hundreds of millions of dollars from the federal government while at the same time arguing that we need to cut trillions of dollars from our debt.”

Well, Mace clearly didn’t have an answer for Crockett’s concerns, so she decided to randomly pivot to her hatred for trans women instead.

“You all want men with penises, chicks with dicks, in the bathroom with us. You don’t respect women,” said Mace, who has so little respect for Black women that she outright refused to pronounce VP Kamala Harris’ name correctly during a CNN appearance last August. “Women have the freedom to go to a private women’s only space and not see a man in it. Women have the right to change and not be feared that somebody with their sexual perversion, someone who’s confused about their gender, we have the right to feel safe in these spaces.”

I’m sure there was a time when Republicans and Democrats alike would have been flabbergasted at a congressperson’s use of the language, “chicks with dicks” during a congressional session — but this is MAGA America politics, where no use of obscene or bigoted language is off-limits, especially when it’s leveled at a Black woman.

“I don’t even know how … we got there,” Crockett said in response to Mace’s completely-out-of-nowhere anti-trans diatribe. “Somebody’s campaign coffers really are struggling right now. So she gonna keep saying trans, trans, trans so that people will feel threatened … and Chile, listen…”

Now, Mace, being the whitest white woman from the Klan-friendly hills of Mt. Caucasity, is not the kind of person who would recognize the use of African American Vernacular English (AAVE), so when Crockett uttered the word “Chile,” Mace took it to mean she was literally being called a child. (Still, you kind of have to admire the way Crockett chooses her moments to completely shirk Black people’s art of code-switching.)

“Do not call me a child! I am no child,” Mace said, adding, “If you want to, take it outside! …” before her microphone appeared to be cut off.

“If you want to see the difference between House Dems and House GOP, watch this,” Crockett posted on X after the hearing, accompanied by a clip of Mace’s not-so-veiled threat. “My Republican colleague threatened to physically fight me about it. Bless her heart.”

Here’s the thing: It’s not just a difference between Republicans and Democrats. Mace’s behavior was a prime example of how white politicians have been able to compose themselves with little pushback, whereas Black public figures could never get away with such behavior without being dragged across media, social media and the political arena for it.

After all, when Crockett got into it with Greene last year, white conservatives overwhelmingly blasted Crockett, calling her “ghetto” over her “bleach blonde, bad built, butch body” remark, while the fact that Greene started the infantile back-and-forth by dog-whistling about Crockett’s eyelashes became the part of the story that got buried.

Crockett was called “ghetto” just for defending herself verbally. Imagine if she had challenged Mace or any of these ghetto Republicans to a fight.

This is white privilege. This is America.

(Also, I personally think Crockett would have whooped Mace’s a**.)
