Jonathan Majors And Meagan Good Announce Engagement At Ebony Power 100 Event
Actors Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good are officially engaged. The couple shared the news at the Ebony Power 100 Gala held in Los Angeles on Nov. 17, where Good displayed her engagement ring to photographers, The Associated Press reported.
Majors, 35, and Good, 43, told People their engagement is “a season of joy.”
“We’re feeling great,” Good told People.
“It’s a season of joy,” Majors added.
“It’s a season of all the good things,” Good continued, with Majors adding, “Amen.”
The couple chose the gala as the setting for their announcement because it holds sentimental value; they first met at the event two years ago. Good recounted their encounter, saying, “Ebony Power 100 is the event that we met at…in the unisex bathroom.”
Their relationship began in May 2023 and has withstood significant public and personal challenges. Good has been a steadfast supporter of Majors throughout his legal issues. In December 2023, Majors was found guilty of two misdemeanor assault charges stemming from an altercation with an ex-girlfriend. While avoiding jail time due to a clean criminal record, Majors was ordered to complete a year-long counseling program. He and his attorneys have consistently maintained his innocence.
Despite these challenges, Good stated in interviews that she believes in him deeply. “I’m rebellious when I believe in someone,” she said.
Majors, previously a rising star in Hollywood, faced professional setbacks following the allegations. Marvel Studios dropped him from its upcoming projects, where he was set to portray Kang the Conqueror in several films. However, his career is far from over; his acclaimed film “Magazine Dreams,” delayed after its initial distributor backed out, is now slated for release in early 2025.
Good, known for roles in “Eve’s Bayou” and “Deliver Us from Eva,” has been vocal about the “instant chemistry” she shared with Majors when they first met. Having finalized her divorce from preacher and motivational speaker DeVon Franklin in 2022, she describes her relationship with Majors as a source of newfound happiness.
