Man United vs. Rangers live score, result as Leny Yoro, Jadon Sancho start preseason friendly match at Murrayfield

Manchester United face Rangers in a preseason friendly match at Murrayfield, Scotland on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag was angry with his players’ application in the 1-0 loss to Rosenborg on Monday that kick-started the Red Devils’ preparations for 2024/25. This game could represent an opportunity for youngsters to stake a claim for the tour squad heading to the United States next week.

Excitingly for United fans, Leny Yoro could make his first appearance for the club barely 48 hours on from his transfer from Lille. Jadon Sancho is also in the 26-man roster for this game, having last played for the club in August 2023.

The Sporting News will provide live score updates from the fixture, which will be United’s last before they head across the Atlantic.

The big news for United fans is that new signing Leny Yoro was included in the 26-man matchday squad for this game and is set to make his first start for the club barely 48 hours after his transfer was finalised.

The Red Devils confirmed that Antony, Victor Lindelof and Marcus Rashford are absent with “small niggles” while Harry Maguire continues to work on his fitness following the injury that kept him out of the FA Cup final and Euro 2024.

Joshua Zirkzee will not be involved, but this will be the first United appearance for Jadon Sancho since last August.

Nico Raskin is likely out for the next six weeks with an ankle injury sustained against Ajax.
