Mark Cuban Foresees Birth of First Trillionaire Through AI — ‘It Could Be Just One Dude In A Basement. That’s How Crazy It Could Be’

Entrepreneur Mark Cuban believes AI is not only the future but will pave the way for a feat that has never been reached by a person before: the world’s first trillionaire.
Cuban stated on the “High Performance” podcast that while every technological wave, from PCs to 5G, has brought forth innovation, AI surpasses them all.
“We haven’t seen the best or the craziest of what it’s going to be able to do, and not only do I think it’ll create a trillionaire but it could be just one dude in a basement. That’s how crazy it could be,” he said.
Cuban is a serial investor who is embracing artificial intelligence in his daily life. He said AI technology has been helpful for the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks.
“For the Mavs and for other businesses, we’re using all the new text-to-video stuff where you can just say ‘show me a guy carrying a rugby ball and that drop kicks it into a basketball basket,’ and it’ll give you 10 seconds of that in a minute. Just being able to be creative, whether it’s from a business or programming a video, I’m trying to find new ways there,” Cuban said.
He formerly was majority owner of the team before he sold his stake to the Miriam Adelson family in December 2023 in a deal valued at $3.5 billion, as AFROTECH™ previously reported. Cuban still maintains a 27% stake in the team, controls its basketball operations, and serves as an alternate governor, according to NBC News.
AI tools like Winning Your Way Recruiter for high school athletes, Avelis Health for medical bill negotiation, and Eazewell, an estate planning platform co-founded by Russell Westbrook, demonstrate AI’s diverse applications.
While artificial intelligence has led to incredible innovations that are disrupting industries, improving workflows, and solving issues, Cuban still believes the world is only scratching the surface of what AI can do.
“We’re still in the preseason as people just figure the whole thing out, but as it becomes more advanced, and I’m not saying we’re going to get the Terminator. I’m not saying all of a sudden there’s going to be robots that are smarter than people like the movie AI, but we’ll find ways to make our lives better, more interesting, do work better, more effectively, so that we all want this thing,” Cuban explained on the podcast.
