Summer Prep for Parents: Healthy Kids, Safe Camps

Summer Prep for Parents
Healthy Kids, Safe Camps
Summer should be fun—but also safe. Whether your child is headed to camp, traveling to relatives, or hanging out in the neighborhood, let’s make sure they stay healthy.
Checklist for Parents:
– Update asthma or allergy plans with your doctor
– Pack medications in original bottles with instructions
– Talk to camp staff about food, insect, or environmental triggers
– Make sure vaccinations are up to date (including COVID and flu)
Emotional Health Matters Too:
– Some kids struggle with separation anxiety or homesickness
– Let your child know who they can talk to if they feel stressed
– Daily check-ins via call or text can ease the transition
A little prep goes a long way toward peace of mind.
