Trump Is Dodging Our Debate

Presidential Debate: Trump vs Harris

Apparently, it has become so obvious that Donald Trump is afraid to debate Vice President Kamala Harris for a second time that even a Fox News anchor is saying publicly that a debate on his network will likely never happen because Trump has been unwilling to agree to one.

“…the Harris campaign would do a Fox debate… [but Trump is]…the holdup…”  Fox host Bret Baier recently told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt. He did concede that he didn’t know the reasoning driving Trump’s decision to still not have agreed to a second debate this close to the elections.

But the rest of us don’t have to say that.

Listen: Trump was transparently afraid to debate Harris the first time — and she ultimately proved he had reason to be — so of course he doesn’t want to put himself through it again. In fact, after their debate earlier this month, Harris immediately agreed to participate in a second debate against the former president — because why wouldn’t she?

It has been widely accepted by people on both sides of the political aisle that Harris dog-walked Trump on the debate stage no matter how much Don the Delusional tried to deny it. Trump, on the other hand, immediately refused to debate Harris for a second time on any network, laughably claiming that “polls clearly show that I won the debate.”

From Hip Hop Wired:

“When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, ‘I WANT A REMATCH.’ Polls clearly show that I won the Debate against Comrade Kamala Harris, the Democrats’ Radical Left Candidate, on Tuesday night, and she immediately called for a Second Debate,” Trump posted on his comically-named platform, Truth Social.

For the record, even the most generous polls from reputable sources have Karris dog-walking Trump by double-digit percentage points. Trump keeps posting screenshots of unscientific polls from Newsmax and other online sources that erroneously have more than 90% of respondents saying the guy who claimed Harris “wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens that are in prison” won the debate, but those polls clearly don’t reflect the electorate — or reality.

Now, Trump has a different excuse to add to the mountain of excuses he has tossed around in apparent hopes that nobody notices he is just dodging Harris or his own inadequacy — or both.

From The Hill:

Harris over the weekend accepted an invitation from CNN to debate Trump a second time next month, an offer Trump has rejected, citing early voting already underway in some states.

Trump had previously advocated for he and Harris to debate on Fox, the top-watched cable channel that features a number of hosts who are vocally supportive of the Republican nominee.

Trump, during an appearance on Fox earlier this month, indicated he would rather have one of the channel’s prime-time opinion hosts moderate a debate instead of Baier or Martha MacCallum, another leading news anchor on the network.

Trump challenged Harris to a debate on Fox News, which he wanted to schedule ahead of their already scheduled Sept. 10 debate on ABC — which he’s been whining about only after President Biden stepped out of the race. Before that, he was gung-ho. Harris initially declined to commit to debating on Fox News, which MAGA supporters pointed to as evidence that she was the one who was afraid to debate, not Trump. Let’s see what they say now.

Because the track record is clear. Trump has been shaking in his boots since news that the VP entered the debate. He won’t debate Harris again on any network because he simply doesn’t want that smoke.

At this point, it couldn’t possibly be more obvious.
