In the latest evidence suggesting that Donald Trump’s signature MAGA movement is tantamount to a cult, Vice President-elect JD Vance posted an image to social media on the Thanksgiving holiday depicting himself as the next president’s apparent spouse serving a cooked America on a silver platter.
Vance, still a sitting U.S. Senator from Ohio, shared the image on Thursday night without any comment. Instead, he let the photo do the speaking for him.
And, boy, did it ever speak volumes.
In the photo, which is effectively a social media meme that was posted on X, formerly Twitter, an image of Vance’s head is superimposed on the body of a person dressed as a stereotypical housewife wearing an apron over a dress while serving Thanksgiving dinner to a group of smiling apparent family members in a dining room with tacky wallpaper.
An image of Trump is positioned standing behind the image of Vance, with the president-elect sporting a broad smile.

Perhaps most telling, though, is what the image shows Vance serving to the table on a tray: a map of the United States of America, mostly in red to reflect the 312 Electoral College votes Trump earned in the 2024 presidential election.
To take things a few steps further, the meme literally shows America being served for dinner by Trump and his “wife” JD Vance on a silver platter to their apparent family, reinforcing valid concerns of nepotism for the incoming presidential administration.
The image — which has a setting of a 1950s-era when wives were often depicted as homemakers without careers — also implies Vance’s eagerness to be subservient to Trump, a virtue that is likely being demanded of all cabinet-level officials who have been nominated to lead federal government agencies.
That apparent eagerness underscores the overall willingness of Trump’s most senior advisers to implement the infamous Project 2025, a MAGA Republican-led political overhaul that NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson previously described to NewsOne as “an effort to completely redesign the role of government to shut Black people out and put us in a position as the disposable, cheap laborer.”
It was decidedly in that context that “Trump’s wife” JD Vance shared his Thanksgiving holiday meme.
Vance’s meme was posted shortly after Trump posted a doctored video parodying the “Christmas Vacation” comedy movie showing Trump popping out of a turkey being carved at a dining room table where prominent Democrats including President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are seated.
This is America.
