With a full scholarship to the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Wilson first established himself as a musician—mastering percussion, saxophone, and piano. Creative Leadership with Industry Impact

Wilson’s career took a defining leap during his tenure as Associate Creative Director at Luckie & Co., where he led high-impact campaigns for brands like Rivian, Regions Bank, and Southern Research. With each project, he fused strategic thinking with cultural insight, shaping visuals that were both effective and evocative.

At Reckon, a bold digital media outlet spotlighting Southern voices, Wilson stepped into the role of Senior Producer. Here, he mastered the art of multimedia journalism, delivering stories that resonated deeply with communities across the region.

Elevating Artistry Through Collaboration

Beyond the corporate space, Dez’s creative reach extends into music and culture. His collaborations with legendary producer Teddy Riley and global superstar Travis Scott demonstrate his knack for creating bold, eye-catching visual content that elevates artistic brands. His work with AFROPUNK and NBA Champion David West further showcases his versatility, delivering visuals that amplify Black voices and stories on a global stage.

Building Brands with Cultural Currency

In founding 1987 Supply Co., Wilson created more than a streetwear brand—it became a cultural platform. By spotlighting local talent and channeling sponsorship into the arts, he cultivated a community-centric approach to design and entrepreneurship.

His standout campaign as the creative director for country music’s rising star Pynk Beard (Coleridge Tillman) is perhaps one of his most viral triumphs. The debut album Sugar & Salt launched with content crafted by Wilson that garnered over 12 million organic views in 30 days, a testament to his ability to merge authenticity with mass appeal.

A Champion for Creative Justice

Yet, Dez Wilson’s most profound legacy may lie in his work off-stage and outside studio walls. As founder of the Black Arts Academy, he has become a changemaker in education and rehabilitation—providing access to studio and digital arts programs for underserved youth and incarcerated individuals at Jefferson County Youth Detention.
