How Nipsey Hussle’s Brother Blacc Sam Expanded And Increased The Value Of The Late Rapper’s Estate Over The Last 7 Years – AfroTech

Nipsey Hussle’s estate continues to grow under the management of his family.
The “Victory Lap” rapper, born Ermias Joseph Asghedom, was murdered in front of his Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles on March 31, 2019, the Los Angeles Times reports. He was 33. Hussle’s family received an outpouring of condolences following his death.
“God said to Nipsey, ‘You’ve done your job, you’ve made your mark,’” Hussle’s grandmother, Margaret Boutte, expressed at the time, according to People. “So thank you so much, world, for loving him, too.”
Hussle is survived by two children: Emani Asghedom, born in 2008 to Hussle and Tanisha Foster, and Kross Asghedom, born in 2016 to Hussle and his partner, Lauren London, notes a separate People article.
The estate of the late rapper has been managed by his brother, Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom, who ensured that Hussle’s children own the Marathon Clothing store.
“When I say we own it, it’s in Hussle’s kids’ names,” he said on the “Earn Your Leisure” podcast, according to Boardroom. “This is something their father worked for, and that they own, and that’s important to me. Also, just having a brick-and-mortar once again reinforced what Hussle told us and taught us.”
Under Blacc Sam, the Hussle legacy was expanded to include Marathon Burger, located on the same lot as the Marathon Clothing store. It expanded to Long Beach, CA, with the help of the Broadus Family, as AFROTECH™ previously reported.
“I think [the] Marathon brand, created by Hussle, was kind of like to inspire and to just motivate, and it just means to keep going,” Blacc Sam told CBS News. “Anything that we can continue doing in that spirit is always a blessing.”
The Hussle estate, which was originally valued at just over $4 million, has grown to nearly $11 million, The Grio reports.
His children are listed as beneficiaries and have now received their share of the estate proceeds, as AFROTECH™ previously reported,
“The estate has been finalized, and Nipsey’s assets have been distributed to their rightful beneficiaries, his children. We are grateful to have reached this milestone and remain committed to honoring Nipsey’s legacy while protecting the privacy of his loved ones. Thank you to everyone who continues to support that legacy,” Hussle’s estate told TMZ.
