BAG Ventures has closed its inaugural fund.
Bonita C. Stewart and Jackson Georges Jr. co-founded the venture capital firm, anchored by an understanding of what it takes for a company to scale. Stewart brings 18 years of experience as vice president of global partnerships and was a Gradient board partner. Georges worked at Google in large customer sales and HR and was a partner at CapitalG focused on portfolio growth, according to a press release shared with AFROTECH™.
Now, the founders and managing partners have Google’s backing for BAG Ventures, a venture capital firm investing in innovative pre-seed and seed-stage startups in areas including AI infrastructure, compute, physical and edge AI, vertical SaaS, security, and governance, with check sizes being between $100,000 and $500,000, according to TechCrunch.
“Winning in enterprise AI isn’t just about building superior technology, it’s about building for the humans on the other side of it. We back founders who understand that technology only delivers when it empowers the people it’s meant to serve,” Stewart commented, per the release.
BAG Ventures has now raised $11.3 million for its Fund I, the press release confirmed.

The fund was supported by 150 LPs, including Google, Snowflake, General Motors, Vanguard, Amazon, and NVIDIA. Additionally, the BAG Collective, a community of more than 450 tech operators, also participated in the fund with an advisory board, including industry leaders across AI and enterprise tech, such as Darian Shirazi (Gradient), David Krane (GV), Laela Sturdy (CapitalG) and Robin Washington (Salesforce).
“Our network isn’t a talking point; it’s the product,” Georges said in the press release. “Our LPs and advisors are technology leaders who have spent careers solving the exact problems our portfolio companies are tackling. We’re able to bring customer introductions and institutional access that typically takes founders years to build on their own.”
BAG Ventures’ Fund I portfolio includes BizTrip, an AI travel agent, and Nomadic, an agentic reasoning platform that converts footage from autonomous vehicles and robots into structured, searchable datasets.
“BAG VC has been a wonderful investor in Nomadic AI. From connecting us with key individuals in our targeted fields to giving us the limelight at various high-impact stages to going deep in our go-to-market motion, we wouldn’t have been able to get to where we are without BAG VC’s help,” said Mustafa Bal, CEO and Nomadic co-founder, according to the press release.
