Cannabis snowballs, what are they and how are they made?- Alchimia Grow Shop

The world of cannabis evolves without pause, and also that of the different types of resin extractions or preparations from them, which does not stop offering us new things season after season. A while ago we told you about one of these preparations made from cannabis flowers, oil, and resin called Moonrocks, a real THC bomb that is usually reserved for the most seasoned users.

Well, today we present to you an evolution of this product called Snowballs due to the clear resemblance in appearance to…exactly, a snowball. Another “cannabinoid bomb” but in this case oriented towards the medicinal aspect of the plant and its consumption. Continue reading to learn more about this new type of cannabis product!

Over the last few years, resin extractions and concentrates have opened up an impressive range of possibilities in the world of producing products derived from the plant. These processes, which involve the separation and concentration of trichomes (the resin glands where essential plant compounds such as cannabinoids and terpenes are produced and stored), have evolved to extract isolated and pure compounds, such as its two best-known cannabinoids, THC and CBD.

This resin, often known as extraction or concentrate, becomes the basis for the creation of various products; From vaping concentrates and tinctures to edibles and topical creams, the possibilities are virtually limitless. In this way, and as we already saw with the aforementioned Moonrocks, one can make various extractions such as dry sieved hashish, BHO, or Rosin Hash and then “play” with them and make a new product.

The versatility of these extractions not only offers various forms of consumption and degrees of concentration of cannabinoids and terpenes but also allows for greater precision in dosage, giving consumers and creators the freedom to explore and personalize their cannabis experience. ways as innovative as they are surprising. In this fascinating world of resin extractions, creativity finds its best ally in shaping products that go beyond conventional limits, offering a unique experience to cannabis enthusiasts. The Snowballs that we present to you today would be a good example.

Snowballs, a CBD bomb

If you have taken a look at our article on Moonrocks, you will know that they are a preparation as curious as it is powerful: you take a perfectly trimmed bud, cover it with BHO oil or some concentrate with a viscous or semi-liquid texture, and then coat it with dry-screened hashish, giving rise to a product that combines three forms of consumption in one, and which of course has a much higher potency than any of the three consumed alone, especially if the intention has been to create something with very high THC content.

Well, today we have to talk about Snowballs, a product very similar to the previous one that gets its name from its spectacular white and shiny appearance. And we say similar in terms of the way of preparing it, because as you will see its purpose is very different from that of the famous Moonrocks, which may present a higher or lower concentration of THC, but always aimed at seeking a very strong psychoactive effect.

Indeed, Snowballs are prepared in a similar way to Moonrocks: a well-trimmed bud, some type of extract with an oily texture, and another extract with a solid texture as the outer layer. What, then, is the difference between one and the other? Very easy, Snowballs are prepared from CBD flowers and resin extracts made from them, so the result is a product with a simply spectacular CBD concentration, and not psychoactive!

How to prepare cannabis Snowballs?

If you want to try this CBD bomb, you will need the ingredients that we have already mentioned:

  • A CBD-rich flower. It can be any variety, although we recommend trying it with those that you find most attractive in terms of flavor.
  • CBD-rich resin extract with a viscous texture. You can use BHO or Rosin, although you may have to heat the extract slightly to achieve the ideal texture that allows you to collect it with a dabber and apply it to the bud. A fairly effective option is to circle the flower while leaving a thread of extract on it with your dabber. Try to cover as much surface area of the bud as possible but without “wasting” extract by putting layers that are too thick.
  • CBD-rich resin concentrate with a solid texture. Although Moonrocks are usually made with dry sift hashish, something that can also be done with Snowballs, the ideal way to achieve that snowball appearance is to use CBD crystals, which apart from providing their very high concentration in This compound will give shine and that spectacular white color that characterizes this product. Sprinkle the resin or crystals over the oiled bud until you get a thick layer covering it completely.

Snowballs and Moonrocks variations

You see that both Moonrocks and Snowballs are, in short, products made from a bud and two different types of extracts or concentrates. In the first case, the highest possible THC content is usually sought, while in the second the objective is to achieve high concentrations of CBD. However, and as you may have thought by now, this “recipe” can be applied in very different ways, mixing different types of flowers and extracts to achieve specific objectives.

For example, one may be looking to benefit from the entourage effect and use CBD flower, THC oil, and CBD crystals. Or a CBD flower and a CBD oil with a final layer of THC-rich dry sift. It all depends on the material you have available or, of course, your preferences. And if you’re particularly inclined to experiment…why not prepare them based on flavor and not cannabinoid profile? You can make authentic delicacies that enhance one type of flavor (fruity, for example), or seek to combine different flavors to achieve spectacular terpene combinations.

Of course, you can also prepare them based on the effect you are looking for…do you want them rich in THC but with an ultra-relaxing effect? Or perhaps with a combination of THC and CBD but with a stimulating effect? Choose the variety or varieties that you are going to use to prepare them based on these types of effects and you will see the enormous amount of possibilities you have.

Applications of Cannabis Snowballs

As with any other product rich in CBD, whether we are talking about flowers or concentrates, we are usually looking for some type of relief for an ailment or medical condition, or perhaps just to alleviate some of its symptoms. Some of the most common therapeutic uses of CBD include:

  • Pain Relief: It has been used to reduce chronic pain associated with conditions such as arthritis, muscle injuries, and neuropathies.
  • Anxiety and stress reduction: Many people turn to CBD to relieve anxiety and stress, as it can have calming effects without producing the psychoactive effects associated with tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
  • Sleep Improvement: CBD has been studied for its potential to improve sleep quality and treat sleep disorders such as insomnia.
  • Anti-inflammatory properties: CBD has shown anti-inflammatory properties, making it useful in managing inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Epilepsy: CBD has been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a treatment for some rare forms of epilepsy, such as Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome.
  • Neurodegenerative disorders: The role of CBD in the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s is being investigated.
  • Control of nausea and vomiting: It can relieve nausea and vomiting associated with medical treatments such as chemotherapy.
  • Psychiatric disorders: The use of CBD in the treatment of psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is being investigated.

As always, we remind you that research into the therapeutic benefits of CBD – and, indeed, other cannabinoids – is ongoing, and it would be ideal to consult health professionals before using it as part of your treatment. Also keep in mind that the effectiveness and safety of CBD may depend on several factors, including the dosage and method of administration.
