Governor Evers visits Black River Falls businesses to promote Shop Small Wisconsin Season | News

BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WKBT) — Governor Tony Evers visited two local businesses Tuesday to promote Shop Small Wisconsin Season and encourage residents to support small businesses during the holiday shopping period.

The governor toured Falls Florist and Greenhouse at 704 Main Street and Revolution Coffee at 38 Main Street as part of his statewide effort to highlight the economic impact of small business spending.

“For every dollar that is spent at a small business in Wisconsin, about 60 to 70 percent of that stays in the area,” Evers said. “So, when I see really active downtowns it tells me there’s really good economic things going on.”

Evers emphasized the critical role small businesses play in Wisconsin’s economy, particularly during challenging economic periods.

“It’s a large part of our economy, that’s why we were so successful during the pandemic,” the governor said. “We made sure small businesses got the resources they needed to keep going or start new business.”

This is the fifth consecutive year of Shop Small Wisconsin Season.
