Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce ‘floods’ business owners with resources

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce (GSBCC) shared on Thursday the resources it offers for local business owners.

Tabitha Donnell is just one person who said the GSBCC helped her business grow.

“I got new customers, new clients, so I’ve actually been a beneficiary of this Chamber,” said Donnell.

The Chamber helps to provide resources to business owners while expanding the number of eyes on their product.

“So we’ll actually find a black business within the community and we’ll flood them with participants and support,” Donnell said. “So they’ll go out on a particular day, spend money and keep it circulating within the community.”

Lydia Syed, a chair member of the Chamber, said the support it has for businesses has an impact on Savannah as a whole.

“I’ve had conversations with countless business owners who said that their business would not be where they are had it not been for the Chamber,” said Syed. “The impact it has, that black businesses in Savannah have, has impacted the whole region.”

Donnell said the Chamber doesn’t just provide services for black-owned businesses.

“Anybody can join our Chamber; the benefits are for everybody. We want everybody to support us, we are not just for black-owned businesses,” she said.

GSBCC members are planning their largest event of the year: the Black Business Expo. This year, they plan to expand to the Savannah Convention Center. They hope to have around 5,000 attendees.

That event is slated for August 1, 2026.
