Celebrity hairstylist Kahh Spence ventured into a new sector and is now seeing the gains.

Spence is well known as a celebrity hairstylist and beauty expert who reintroduced himself to the world as a founder when he entered the luxury fragrance and personal care sector with Samir Grey in 2025.

He explained his venture in an interview with Entrepreneur.

“I want to make sure what I’m bringing to the marketplace is actually going to be valuable, and I didn’t think I had anything, at that moment, valuable to say in haircare. But I did have something valuable to say in fragrance and in personal care,” he told the outlet.

He also credits his late mother — who died after a battle with colon cancer — and all women for being the inspiration behind Samir Grey.

“…Watching women and how they sacrifice themselves to take care of the world, essentially,” he expressed to Entrepreneur.

Samir Grey’s debut fragrance “ONE parfum” features peony, candied peach, warm amber and decadent vanilla notes, and is sold exclusively online at SamirGrey.co for $138. Entrepreneur reports it is also vegan, cruelty-free, IFRA-compliant, and CMR-free.

Samir Grey has been a success with the help of Spence’s star-powered network, and creators have also been influential in the business’s success. This includes entertainer Kelly Rowland and Tina Knowles, who were both part of the Destiny’s Child family, a legendary R&B girl group that featured Rowland, Michelle Williams, and Knowles’ daughter, Beyoncé.

Spence first received a text from Rowland’s assistant showing interest in his perfume. He sent the product with no expectations. Then he saw a video of Rowland doing her hair with his product in the frame, which was shared by Knowles, a hairstylist and entrepreneur. The comment section was filled with users inquiring about the fragrance details. Spence wrote that it was Samir Grey’s ONE and the product sold out in two hours. When the product was restocked, one month of sales matched what it had previously sold over five months, notes Entrepreneur.

“ It boosted things tremendously,” Spence told Entrepreneur. “Our spike in site sessions that day was about 5X. Our email list had grown 3X to 4X during that time. We were sold out for about five weeks, and our traffic was some of the best it’s ever been.”

Revenue

Spence acknowledges that his business is still seeing gains from the video. Samir Grey has surpassed $500,000 in sales and is projected to exceed $1 million in 2026.
