Partnership empowers black-owned businesses with Kalshi’s innovative hedging tools and financial education
NEW YORK, October 08, 2026–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Kalshi, the next-generation financial exchange, today announced a partnership with the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. (USBC), which represents over 145 chambers of commerce and business organizations and approximately 326,000 Black businesses nationwide. The partnership will provide resources and education to help black owners manage their business risk.
Kalshi will host an interactive risk management workshop, introducing chamber members to hedging. Business owners and entrepreneurs will learn how events outside their control, like a stretch of bad weather, a shift in the economy, or a local team’s playoff run, can affect revenue, and how Kalshi’s event contracts can help offset those risks. Through real-world examples and a guided walkthrough of the platform, attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how to identify the events that matter most to their businesses, evaluate potential hedges, and build a simple risk management plan that fits their budgets.
Black-owned businesses across the United States have grown by 62% in recent years to record numbers. But according to the Federal Reserve, Black-owned small businesses are likelier to remain closed for longer periods and face bigger hurdles in finding immediate relief in the aftermath of a natural disaster. For too long, small businesses have been shut out from the options, futures, and swaps that large corporations use to hedge risk to their business. This lack of resources can leave critical Black small businesses more vulnerable to inflation, interest rate shifts, supply chain disruption and other macroeconomic shocks.
Prediction markets are an accessible tool that can democratize the process of protecting these businesses from risk. By hedging on Kalshi, underserved small businesses can mitigate against real-world events that could impact their businesses. For instance, a beloved Black tour guide in New York has hedged on Kalshi’s weather markets to recuperate lost earnings from cancellations in the event of rain.
Thanks to USBC’s far-reaching footprint across 42 states, the partnership will enable hundreds of thousands of Black American businesses to access educational programming and technical assistance on Kalshi’s regulated markets and hedges.
“We’re proud to welcome Kalshi as a corporate partner of the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc.,” said Ron Busby Sr., President & CEO of U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. “This partnership reflects our commitment to connecting Black entrepreneurs with new opportunities, innovative ideas, and emerging markets. As we advance access to capital, entrepreneurial training, advocacy, and economic development, we look forward to working with Kalshi to help ensure Black businesses are positioned to participate in and shape the future of our economy.”
