Bidding for the shoe, which was worn by Jordan during Game 2 of the 1998 NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz, began on April 3.
Within just a few hours, there was a bid made for $1.8 million. Once sold, this would become the highest-selling pair of sneakers at auction.
The original Nike Air Ship shoes, also worn by Michael Jordan in 1984, holds the record as they went for $1.47 million in 2021.
