Negril Is Calling: Film, Tourism and Cannabis Take the Spotlight This October.

October 8–11: Film at Skylark

The NUFF festival takes place October 8–11 at Skylark Hotel, adding cinema to Negril’s October mix.

An intimate film festival feels right at home here. Negril is a place where a conversation can carry on long after an event ends, over dinner or with your feet in the sand. For film lovers, it is an opportunity to build a visit around storytelling and leave room to enjoy the town around it.

Film belongs in the Caribbean tourism conversation, too. Our stories, personalities and perspectives are part of what makes this region worth exploring. A festival gives those stories a gathering place.

Check the festival website for its lineup and attendance details.

October 10–15: The Travel Industry Comes West

The spotlight widens with World Travel Week, scheduled for October 10–15 at Princess Resorts in the Negril area, as reported by Caribbean E-Magazine.

The announced programme includes international events covering hospitality, culinary tourism, travel technology, cruise tourism and other sectors. The World Travel Awards Caribbean & The Americas Gala Ceremony is scheduled for October 11 at Princess Grand Jamaica, along the coast between Montego Bay and Negril.

That brings another audience to western Jamaica: people whose work involves choosing, promoting and developing travel experiences.

Our invitation to them is simple: make time for Negril. Eat locally. Meet the people behind the businesses. Discover the smaller properties, restaurants and experiences that give a visit its personality.
