A lot of Black female models changed the world of fashion. They have made history and broken barriers. One had to deal with his/her skin, but he/she never gave up. Initially, they proved that beauty exists in all shades. They’ve walked the runways for famous designers, been on magazine covers, and touched the lives of people all over the world. They also have used their voices to bring change. They put in work and prove that anything is possible to others. Below are ten extraordinary Black female models that have made a great difference.
1. Naomi Campbell
Naomi Campbell is a famous model. When she was very young, she began modelling. Her walk on the runway was very loved by people. She has been on many magazine covers and worked with top designers. Naomi never gave up even in the hard things. She kept going, some people didn’t treat her fairly because she was Black. One of the first Black supermodels she became. Naomi’s also been in movies and for the people in need. Charities and people, she helps with what she has and pays back to them. She is a strong woman who has her message to many women out there. She has been a model for over 30 years now.
2. Joan Smalls
Another famous model is Joan Smalls. She is from Puerto Rico. As a teenager, she started modelling. She started with small jobs that quickly became walks for brands such as Chanel and Gucci. Joan became one of the most famous models in the world. She also was the first Latina model that work with Estée Lauder. In a recent interview, Joan speaks about the lack of Black models in fashion. According to her, beauty does exist in all the colours. No more, just is not a model, just a voice of change.
3. Jourdan Dunn

Jourdan Dunn is a British model. She is considered one of the best models in the world. It was the first time for her to walk for Prada and the first for a Black model after 10 years. This was a huge day for Black models. Additionally, Jourdan getting into conversation with the fashion world is not fair enough. She wants to give Black girls more chances in modelling.
4. Adut Akech
Adut Akech is Australian but was born in South Sudan. Before becoming a model, she was a refugee. She was not born in South Sudan due to war. As a young girl, she didn’t know she would be a model. One day she got a chance to try but. Now she works for brands such as Valentino, Dior etc. Adut is all too proud of where she comes from. That’s why she wants young girls to believe in themselves. She also helps the refugees as she knows how hard life can be. What she says is about kindness and hope. She has some dreams come true.
5. Iman
Iman is a legendary model. Born in Somalia, she went on to live in the United States. She was very smart and attended college. She desired to find a good job and be able to study. That changed, however, when a photographer spotted her. He went on and asked her if she wanted to be a model. However, she became a model and worked with big designers. She did not allow people to treat her badly. Like models of other colours, she sought to be paid the same as white models. She wanted to be given respect. Later, she opened up her own brand of makeup for women of colour. Black women, she wanted, to have makeup that matched their skin.
6. Grace Jones
Grace Jones is more than just a model. In addition, she used to be a singer and an actress. Born in Jamaica, she lived in New York. In Paris, she became a model for her unique and strong looks. Bold outfits and makeup were her thing. She did not care when some people thought she looked different. Grace made her style. She began to sing and act in movies later. Being different is beautiful—they should write the curriculum around Grace Jones, and what she showed. She teaches fearlessness and pride of one’s self.
7. Precious Lee
Precious Lee is one of the bold first plus-size black models to hit fame. She wanted to be represented by the fashion world in all its forms. Most models were very thin before. Precious wanted to prove beauty comes in all forms. She had walked for famous designers and she worked hard. Precious wants people to feel that they are okay the way they are. She is also breaking the fashion rules and making history. She also tells young girls that they are beautiful and beautiful just as they are.
8. Aya Jones
Aya Jones is a French model. Her manner is soft and pretty. She has worked for such brands as Louis Vuitton and Prada. She had an accident, but she didn’t give up. To come back to modelling, she worked very hard. She had to rest too long before she could work again. However, she did not stop dreaming. She is back on the runway now. Aya is a fighter; nothing holds you back if you truly believe what you can do. She trains people never to give up.

9 .Blesnya Minher
Blesnya Minher is from Angola. About a few years ago, she began modelling. She now works with the highest of the fashion brands. People refer to her glowing skin and beautiful smile. She is proud of her African roots. What she wants is for more Black girls to see their dreams. Hard work to her is possible to make of anything. Still, she is young and is already making history.
10. Mayowa Nicholas
Mayowa Nicholas is from Nigeria. Fashion has always been something she loved since young. She entered a modelling contest and won. This contest changed her life. Not long after, she was walking for top designers. Today, Mayowa is one of the highest-paid models of the Black race. She is very successful. Young African girls should know they can be stars too, she wants to tell them. According to her, if you work hard then all is possible. Many young people look up to her.
