A powerhouse Notre Dame squad is preparing to host cross-country rivals Stanford on Saturday for a showdown in South Bend.
The No. 3-ranked Fighting Irish are undefeated through five games so far, despite an unexpected close matchup with North Carolina last weekend. Notre Dame initially struggled to pull away from the Tar Heels, but then dominated the second half to secure a 37-26 victory. Quarterback CJ Carr has been leading his offense impressively.
Meanwhile, Stanford has been unable to get anything together. The once-dominant program has been in limbo for several years, struggling to navigate coaching changes, reorginizations and the new NIL era. The Cardinal are currently at 3-2, with their only victories against Hawaii and Georgia Tech. Can they turn it around?
