Wolverhampton’s African Women in Business shine on national stage

The event, attended by over 250 distinguished guests and graced by keynote speaker His Excellency Johnston Busingye, High Commissioner of the Republic of Rwanda to the UK, was a grand celebration of purpose, pride, and progress within the African diaspora business community.

From coaching to technology, from health innovation to uplifting others — this moment stands for resilience, creativity, and fearless leadership.
At the centre of this recognition is CheckUp Health, the Wolverhampton-based company founded by a team of diverse professionals with more than 100 years of combined expertise. The business, led by the award recipient, has made waves across the UK for its AI-powered GP platform designed to support the NHS 10-Year Plan for Digital Transformation.
NHS-Backed, Nationally Recognised

In a major development, CheckUp Health was recently announced as one of only four companies approved as a core supplier under NHS England’s Tech Innovation Framework (TIF). The cloud-first, browser-based solution is transforming how primary care is delivered — with AI triage, multilingual access, e-Referral, e-Prescription integration, and inclusive care analytics.
The platform is now being rolled out across two GP practices and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), placing Wolverhampton at the forefront of healthcare digital transformation.
“Digitally, the NHS App will become central to services by 2028,” notes the NHS Long Term Plan, aligning with CheckUp Health’s mission to build a unified, accessible, and future-ready healthcare system.

More Than Tech: A Movement of Representation and Change
Beyond its technological innovation, the award winner’s entrepreneurial journey stands as a beacon for African and Black British women in business. Her achievements bridge the worlds of technology, coaching, fashion, authorship, blogging, and empowerment, underpinned by a commitment to equitable healthcare and community transformation.
“I’m honoured to have been recognised by the AfBC. This milestone is not just mine — it’s one for every young Black girl watching, every mother building a business after hours, and every entrepreneur daring to reimagine the future,” she said.

“I’m proud to be part of this journey and even prouder to share it with my family.”
A few photos from the evening capture the essence of the celebration — joy, honour, and hope.
The Future is Female, African, and Fearless
This recognition joins a growing list of accolades for the entrepreneur, whose leadership exemplifies the spirit of Women in Business, Creative Entrepreneurs, and Business Success. Her work inspires a new generation of Fashionpreneurs, Authors, Bloggers, and Coaches to embrace their power, claim their space, and rewrite the rules.
With continued focus on inclusive innovation, NHS support, and digital expansion, the road ahead for this Wolverhampton-based business leader looks as promising as ever.
