A Time to Reflect: What If There was a Pride Month for Adultery?

By Juicy Genius | BlackNewsDaily.com
Each June, rainbow flags fly high, brands roll out special campaigns, and cities across America host colorful parades and events in honor of Pride Month, a national celebration of LGBTQ+ identity and visibility. But for many Christians, particularly those who follow the KJV of the Bible, this celebration can raise deep theological and moral concerns.
The Bible, especially in passages like Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:26-27, identifies homosexual acts as sinful and against God’s created order. In 1 Corinthians 6:18, Paul urges believers to “flee fornication,” reminding us that sexual immorality defiles the body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit. So why, some ask, is there an entire month dedicated to affirming what Scripture clearly identifies as an abomination?
This isn’t a call for hatred or harm—far from it. Every human being is worthy of dignity and compassion. But as people of faith, we’re also called to speak truth in love (Ephesians 4:15) and discern the times. Our concern is not merely about sexuality but about the broader normalization and celebration of hypersexuality and Perversions in American culture.
A Thought Experiment: What If There Was “Adultery Awareness Month”?
Imagine if our society declared a national month to affirm adultery. Billboards celebrating infidelity. Parades glorifying cheating spouses. School programs teaching kids about “alternative relationship structures.” Hashtags like #AdulteryIsLove or #CheatersUnite trending on social media.
Sounds ridiculous, right?
But why? According to biblical teaching, adultery is just as sinful as homosexual behavior—both are sexual sins that violate God’s design. Yet one is celebrated while the other remains (rightly) condemned by culture. What makes one sin worthy of protection, marketing, and pride—and the other not?
This thought experiment reveals a powerful double standard. When “love is love” becomes the ruling doctrine, moral lines are erased, and biblical standards become optional. If this rule applied to all, there would be no grounds to oppose adultery, fornication, incest, or any sexual sin, so long as it’s “consensual.” But we know that some lines must remain. And the Bible already drew them long ago.
A Call for Righteous Discernment, Not Hate
Let’s be clear: this is not about attacking individuals. Jesus died for all sinners, and that includes the sexually immoral, the prideful, the liar, the thief, the gossip, and everyone in between. But He also said, “Go and sin no more” (John 8:11). Grace is not permission to sin—it’s the power to turn from it.
The growing tide of moral confusion in our culture isn’t accidental. It’s the result of a slow erosion of biblical truth, fueled by media, politics, and pop culture. And Christians, especially Black Christians, must lovingly but boldly stand in the gap—not with condemnation, but with clarity.
We cannot afford to be silent while sin is rebranded as identity, and rebellion is wrapped in rainbow flags. If we say we believe the Bible, then we must believe all of it—even when it’s unpopular.
Final Thoughts: Truth with Love
This is not a call to hate, shame, or attack anyone. As followers of Christ, we believe in grace and redemption. Every human being—regardless of sexual history or identity—is loved by God and offered forgiveness through Jesus. But the gospel also calls for repentance, not celebration of sin.
Isaiah 5:20 warns, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil.” We are living in an age where the moral compass is being flipped. It’s time to re-center on biblical truth, even when it contradicts modern trends.
If we don’t speak now, soon every sin will have its season—and the standard of righteousness will be lost to applause.
